Family loves music, and loved the unique names that were musically inclined (Harmony, for example), but really liked the way "lyric" sounded.

Jeff (husband) had met a family a long time ago that named their daughter 'Lyric' - and thought that was very creative and lovely. So we started experimenting with names, and after deciding on "Larek" we decided to put a "french twist" into it and spelled it L-A-R-I-Q-U-E.

Started with unique words in other languages, and came across "Lare," which means beautiful in Cherokee. However, after more research, found that "lar" or "lares" were ancient Roman deities protecting the house and the family, they were a form of household gods.
