Even though I think it is pretty easy to pronounce, Lia went through school (and even now) being called Lisa and Lya. Better to spell it Leah or Lea.

My Name is Lia I was born in 1986 and I have always loved my name I have never met another Lia until my adult years. Now it seems everytime I'm out shopping I hear a mom shouting out her two year old's name and of course I always look around for who's calling me! I did have one teacher in second grade who called me LEE-ER the ENTIRE year, that was annoying. The princess Leia jokes get old too but then again I was in middle school and high school when the new star wars movies came out. I like my name because of it's uniqueness, however I don't think it will be so unique for much longer

My name is Lia and in school, with new teachers I'm often called Liar or Lisa- but I'm glad I'm called Lia instead of Lisa or Leah. I'm the only one in school with my name spelt this way so I'm glad I'm acually called this.
