While checking an old family Bible, I found that the person that I, Lora, was named after was originally placed in the Bible as "Allora". Very pretty; I think.

While in the National Cathedral, I looked in a book of Anglican names and found Lora. The book said the usual about the laurel bush but also said that one of the handmaidens of Anne Bolyn was named Lora.
