My name has been Loren for the past 31 years now, and I love it! True, it's a man's name too, and I sometimes get mail addressed to Mr. Loren X, but it's fine. It's great as an adult, because it's serious enough to not be taken as a joke, but also fun and common enough to be pronounced correctly (occasionally I was called "loreen" or "lorraine" in school when folks mispronounced it, but I always considered it to be their mistake, as there's nothing to indicate the "e" is long - there's no extra "e" at the end - and that's a very uncommon way to spell Lorraine). All in all, I think it's a great choice - it wears well, and it goes especially well with my one-syllable last name. AND, the unique spelling helps me stand out from all the other Laurens out there!

I agree, I'm 14 years old and at my school, we have tons of Lauren's. I'm the only one with a different spelling. My grandpa's name was Lorenzo so my mom named me Loren for short and my middle name Carmel because her middle names Del Carmen. My family nickname is Lo, & Hot Caramel. I love my name because with all the Lauren's i know, it stands out & makes me unique.(:

Apparently "Loren" is also a boy's name or someone's parents hated them. He continues to be perturbed at my shop for misjudging his gender through e-mail correspondence. Dude needs to get a name change as this will continue on in a vicious cycle.

Yes! I know two men named Loren. The only woman I know named Loren was named after Sophia Loren.

I don't know any women named Loren (they are all Lauren), but I know several men named Loren.
