My name is Lucinda. Growing up I hated it. My nickname is Cindi. I was named after a great grandmother. Now that I am older I am getting to like it more. But I am the only Lucinda wherever I go.
I had a similar experience growing up and not liking that my name was different. I was called Luci by my family, but now that I'm older I absolutely love my name and I'm glad it is unusual, which generally makes it more memorable.
