First off, it's pronounced "May-da". Everyone gets that wrong, and I'm alway correcting them. It's a very pretty name I've been told, and it does make people stop and look at it, especially when it's said aloud.

I've met only one other person with this name when I was... maybe five? And I've heard of one other person through a friend. It's always made me stand out just a bit from everyone. My mother named me after my great-great grandmother, so this name means a lot to me.
