Miranda's pronunciation is actually mur-AN-də not mi-RAN-də. The second one would make the name "My randa." It is, however, the correct pronunciation for Maranda, but not any other spelling.

When I have a daughter I want to name her Miranda, because "The Tempest" is my fav aorite

Personal experiences with the name Miranda: | Edit

my good friend's little sister's name is miranda, but when she was about 4, she told everyone she wouldn't answer to anything but mimi. within a week, that's all she was. now, i don't even think of her as a miranda anymore, just a mimi.

Miranda was a high school friend of mine whom I definitely admired, so the name fit her! She was pretty, smart, and a snappy dresser to boot.
