My name is Ryan. Nice name for a boy, but not so much for a girl. It breeds a lot of confusion and a lot of teasing on the playground.

i agree. my name is Ryan, i still always get teased.

I just adore the name Ryan (or Rian) for a girl. I seriously am holding onto that for the name of my first girl. Its unique without being extremely outrageous or hard to pronounce. Its simple and zesty. lol yeah zesty : )

I named my daughter Ryan Ashlye, I chose it because my husband's name is Chad Ryan and the strongest person I know next to my father. The day she was born, she looked like a Ryan, strong willed, and yes she was. Only older people really had a problem with me naming her Ryan. Ryan loved her name and would never let anyone get her down with any teasing. She knew she was strong and people love her for it. She fit's her name to a "T". Most of the time we called her by both her names. Another reason why we chose Ryan for her name was because my father, her grandfather had a hard time saying our first daughters name, Krysten. He keeps calling her Kristian, he messes up Crystal, always saying Crystial. So we asked him to say Ryan.. he did it.. Yes finally a name he could pronounce... It has a been a great discussion with everyone we meet and tell the story to.

My daughter is Ryan as well, and I agree, the name fits her perfectly. We mostly call her Ry, and everyone assumes Riley. When we say Ryan, we get mixed reviews...but I'm not worried about the people who don't like it. There will never be a name that EVERYONE loves.
