Personal experiences with the name Sapphire: | Edit

My baby niece's name is Sapphire. She is a beautiful and happy 22 month old who lights up the lives of everyone she encounters. Her name was originally suggested when my big sister Ruby was pregnant, before we even knew she was a girl. It was sort of a joke because her mother's name is Ruby and we have a cousin named Emerald. When they found out her gender, my sister kept calling her Sapphire and the name just stuck and there was no further pondering of names. Everybody we tell laughs and thinks we must be joking, but if they saw her beautiful blue/grey eyes, they'd realize how perfect it is for her. We call her Sapphy a lot and she still hasn't quite figured out how to say her name, she says it "Fasire." It is too cute!

My good friend is named Sapphire and she doesn't really like her name. When she was little she was teased because of the double p which kids turned into pee-pee and also taunted her with "Liar liar pants on 'phire'". Which seems like a minimal concern, but its really stuck with her..

My daughter is called Sapphire Saffie for short and she loves her name her middle name is Louise and she likes to be called Saffie Lou. She's never been teased about her name and is often complimented on her name
