We live by the beach and I wanted a name that reminded me of the beach at sunset, so we named our daughter Serena Amber. My husband is Filipino and in his language Serena sounds like the word for mermaid further compliments the ocean. It is a perfect name for her also because she loves the water and she has golden skin and red hair.

My name is Serena Michelle and until recently I haven't liked my name because it means peaceful and I'm absolutely not peaceful, but now I think it's very classy, strong and regal and I love that it has such ancient roots as well as that it's uncommon but recognizable! It's not the best name for me, but it's a great name nonetheless.
