My name is Shasta. For anyone thinking of gifting this unique name to their daughter, I'll share a little about my experience. I'm 27 at time of writing this and have yet to meet another Shasta. Currently, I'm a Speech Language Pathologist, married, and thinking of having children of my own in the next 2 years. My mother does not have any stories as to why she named me Shasta. People mispronounce my name A LOT; usually, it's substituted for "Sasha," "Stacia," "Sashta," and really the list goes on. Often, I receive praise for my name and its beauty, uniqueness, and how it seems to "fit me." As a child, I didn't understand the blessing of a unique name and felt different not being a "Jessica" or "Lindsey" or "Megan," etc. But as I've grown into an adult, I love my name and I love my mother for pre-determining a child who is as unique and assertive as her namesake. Hope this helps you decide!
