Personal experiences with the name Tamela: | Edit

It's my first name! My parents liked the name Tamara, and when they had twins, they decided to call us Pamela and Tamela. I've always been called Tam, never Tammy. It was definitley a choice of names that has inspired a lot of confusion. Our names sound so much alike that in school it was hard to distinguish which one of us was being called on by teachers. We don't look very much alike, but the names caused people to confuse us more easily. Now that I'm grown and don't live in the same area as my sister, it's kind of nice having a more unusual name. I like the nickname Tam - different but not TOO different.
