My name is Tara and i love it because i have only met a few people named Tara also. Maybe 2-3. I do get a lot of confusing about pronouncing and spelling it but thats ok. I have had people spell my name as terra, tera, tarra and the normal spelling of tara. I think its a great name although there aren't any real nicknames for it. :J

My best childhood friend was a Tara and she was the sweetest, kindest, most lovely person I have ever met. The one thing that annoyed her was when people misspronounced her name. Americans pronounced it Terra, and she hated it, so did I it sounds horrid that way. The only way to pronounce it is Tar-rah so both syllables rhyme otherwise, you just ruin the name
My name is Tara. I went to Ireland on vacation and that is exactly how they said it: Tar-rah. It sounded so pretty. Americans mispronounce it. That's all I'm saying. : )
