I recently met a little girl with this name; she was a twin whose sister had a frilly girl's name. A pleasing choice. Turner is a very popular choice among people who like surnames as first names and who like the occupational name trend. And with the common occupational name "ER" sound at the end fits right in with the Sawyers, Taylors, Tylers and so forth. The name Turner is a unisex name so it can be for either a male or female. In my experience it is more suitable as a females hame just like Taylor has become.

As I have met many more females with the name Turner then I have met males with the name Turner I would say this is a more suitable name for a baby girl then a baby boy. This name is becoming quite popular in our area with the people who like all "ER" ending surnames.
