Do consider that there is a Latin word for a type of wart that is spelled veRRuca, but who uses Latin much anymore? It isn't common to know the Latin for something, and is not likely to come up via school yard teasing!

I just heard about a sweet, little, red-headed girl whose parents had given her this name.. the latin word for wart did come up but only with health professionals. I think it's a beautiful and unique name.
