My name is Wendy and I was born in 1983. In my whole high school of 1500 (graduating class of 2001), I was one of only 2 Wendy's. In childhood I got a lot of people asking me where Peter Pan was, but more often, people wanted to know if my dad was Dave Thomas and if I could get them free hamburgers. That disappeared when I hit adulthood, and I really haven't had any problems or comments about my name at all, negative or positive. I like the name okay, except I don't really like how it ends with the EE sound, because that makes it sound a lot more juvenile and I dislike that as an adult. I want to give my future children names that do not end with that sound. I like that the name is short and it is easy to write and spell. People don't spell it wrong, ever. I like how it is different and unique and I enjoy not being confused with anyone else. :) It's a fine name, go ahead and use it!

My mom was actually named Wendy also. She dated a guy in high school named Peter and everyone thought it was hilarious. Then in later life she married a Michael, another Peter Pan character. His last name is Thomas so she became Wendy Thomas! Last year she convinced a Wendy's employee that she was Dave Thomas' daughter. It helped that she had two red head boys also :)

that's a funny story....only thing is....Dave Thomas doesn't have a daughter named Wendy...her name is Melinda Lou but her nickname was Wendy, stemming from the child's inability to say her own name at a young age. According to Bio TV, Dave claims himself that people nicknamed his daughter "Wenda. Not Wendy but Wenda. So one day, I looked at her and said...'I'm going to call it Wendy's Old Fashioned Hamburgers'.".....my name is Wendy also and i still as an adult get teased about my name but it doesn't help the fact that i work at Wendy's....lol....poor me right...lol
