Grandmother was born in the mountains of Italy in 1902 and named Yolanda. It was spelled on the Ellis Island manifest as "Violante," and when I visited Italy to find cousins, many people in her town were named "Iolanda" (with an I). We even met a man named Iolandino! She named one of her daughters (my aunt) Yola.
