I agree with NotAGuestAnymore, although I'd go with Penelope Ellen over Penelope Amelia. Ellen Amelia sounds really nice too though. I like the long name/short name and short name/long name combos more than short/short or long/long.

In Response to Middle Names

Personally, I would stick with one middle name, two at the most if you want to honor family members, for example. Anymore, and I think it would be cumbersome for the child.

In terms of family names vs. names I just liked, I could go either way. It would really depend on what the first name is. At least, that's what I think.

Out of all of these, the only one I really like is Alice Poppy.

For Marianne, have you thought about Marianne Adele or Marianne Rose?

Marianne is traditionally pronounced the same as Mary Ann

How about Lavinia? Or Dorothea?

I'm first-generation American, so everyone from my parents' generation and older has Spanish names. My great-grandmother's name was Edilia. She was born around the turn of the 20th century. Here are some other names from my grandparents' generation and older: Rafaela Ramon Julia Germania (pronounced her-MAHN-yah) Augusto Gilberto Agustín Maria Rosa Everyone in my generation received English names, like Andrew and Madeline. We were all born in the '80s and early '90s. I think I'm going to give my future-children Spanish names, though.
