Of course we live in a creative naming era, and people are socially, almost morally, justified, to give just any name they wish to their kids. And the really exciting thing when people give their kids weird names is the buzz it generates on social media. A few days ago, the Internet went agog because a couple decided to name their new born baby Disney. A lot of people instantly fell in love with the name, wondering why they never thought of such a great name themselves. Well, I think people are beginning to learn to be smart and creative in naming their kids. Smart Learning in Nigeria

Aside TV commercials, another media element that influences choice of names is TV series and reality TV shows. In my country, almost everyone started naming their newborns Miracle because a guy named Miracle won a popular reality TV show. That's the power of TV, whether it is TV commercial, reality TV show or series.

Thank you very much for these great names.

I've always preferreed uncommon and unique names to the common ones we hear every now and then. Thanks for this wonderful blog and all the beautiful names here

I wanted to say these names are quite rare when I saw the word "familiar" on the post title, but then I read through it and saw that they are actually rare names. I think I like Truman and Stone. I can't relate with them - Truman being the name of one time US president Harry Truman, and the WWE wrestler, Stone Cold Steve Austin classhall

I never knew Hawaii was blessed with beautiful names like these. I thought the place was only known for tourist destinations and sights. Nice one

I once read that the name Emma is the most common female baby name in the U.S. Is there any element of fact in this? ClassHall
