Uno is a good one. I love him, but the game connection is inevitable :) Rook is also a favourite.

Anona is missing! It's one of my favourite names, and I don't think it whoud be omitted just because it's not in use in the US today :) It's amazing! ^^

Makes me think of a science teacher called Matt who wanted to name his daughter mitochondria after the coolest thing in the universe according to him... He didn't get his way (fortunately) and she's now called Maia which he claims is short for 'Matt And Irene's Accident'. I hopw he never tells little Maia...

Vivienne pulled an Isla. I'm not surprised! :) I am surprised at Lucia not rising though. She's stuck in the exact same place as 2008! As for boys, my beloved Silas is rising. Sigh. Only to be expected I guess with 'The Graveyard Book' and my thought that maybe -s endings will have an upswing for boys :)

I'd like to add Fleming/Flemming to the -ing list! It's in use in Norway, and I always loved it for the Ian Fleming connection! ^^ Also, Hemming is a Norwegian surname with tradition as a first name, but it's not used today because of it being a derogatory term for disability in Norway... It sounds nice though, so I would hate to see it fall out of use! Travers, Yates, Evers, Holmes, Hughes, Clemens, Ames, Brooks, Hayes, Holmes and Hastings appeal greatly to me, but Travers and Hayes perhaps more than the others... Travers is a good Trevor alternative! Carling, Channing, Fielding Manning and Redding also appeal, but Fleming is the best with the -ing enindg in my opinion! All in all a wonderful blog ^^ Thank you!

In Response to The Name of the Future

I kind of like Ily ^^ She's sweet... What this post did make me think of however, is a science teacher I came across whose daughter's name was Maia, short for -Mark and Irene's Accident- :O He actually really wanted to name her Mitochondria which he thought sounded fantastic, but they wet with Maia...
