Jack is one of those names that I will love no matter how popular it becomes! UPDATE for you all: Little Myer Elliot was born on January 12th- weighing in at 8 lbs! the meaning: "He illuminates the Lord" I wanted to thank you all for your input & suggestions over the past few months-- you all are fabulous!! :)
Henry. It's suddenly new again, and EVERYWHERE.
i was unaware of the Levin surname connection to priestly families. i had heard of that with the name cohen, but never for levin. i would not feel comfortable using it now that i know that, for sure! (although i am interminably drawn to older jewish names... i think they are the best of the best!) also- i'd never heard of a meyer lemon before... i guess that rules that out! who wants to be named after a lemon?? :)
hello again! For this baby that is due in about 10 weeks, hubby and i have pretty much decided on: myer holden myer="bringer of light" holden="deep valley" I love the imagery of these names together. "bringer of light to a deep valley". thoughts? also- we were loving the name Levin, and almost went with Myer Levin, but couldn't find a solid answer on the meaning of the name. Some said Levin means "heart", while others said it meant "joined" (like levi). If it truly meant "heart", we might still consider it... "bringer of light to the heart". Anyone have insight on the name 'Levin'? (Consequently- DAVIN, I think this name could work for your list as well!)
Loeb.... now there's a name for you! I'd be inclined to like it if it didn't conjure up images of ear bits.
You guys are awesome... I appreciate the feedback SO very much. One of my brother's best friends growing up was named Ahren, and I have always loved the name. I think it's a great alternative to the Alden or Arden trend... perhaps even the Aiden craze. I asked my brother's friend recently if he enjoyed having his name. He said that when people initially read the name, they sometimes say "Aaron", but it never bothered him, and he very much enjoyed being named Ahren. It's still one of my favorites. As for Myer, it is an alternate spelling to Meyer, but I didn't want it to be pronounced as MAY-er. I like the sound of MY-er, and the meaning of the name is one of my favorites: "Bringer of Light". Perhaps it would be better suited as a middle name?
I have a child on the way and have been stalking this blog & its comments for awhile now... I have yet to find a naming site with such great taste and feedback! Anywho, it's a boy... and we're thinking: Myer Ahren (AH-ren) Simon or Abel This baby will have one sibling: 4 year old Ezra. Thoughts? Feedback? THANKS SO MUCH!!
