Mom to Lily Anne & baby girl on the way.
I'm actually a little concerned about its rise inpopularity. I've met so many little Avas & Evies, but Lily was becoming verypopular when we chose it as well. They are both family names and keeping that connection is what is more important to us.
I've grown up around Beaumont Tx all my life and while it is not my style I think it makes a nice boy name. It fits with the place name and surname trends that are popular now and is a little unexpected. The nickname Bowie immediately brings to mind the knife for me which is a very masculine connection. I also know many grown who who go by Boo and Bo or Beaux the latter has a heart breaker feel to me. If it has been your top choice all along and you are prepared to spell the name and are ok with all the nickname possibilities (kids often create their own)- I would stick with Beaumont.
I like Broderick and Truman as well but Harlan makes me think of a girl Harley is common for pets as well. Howevee it is a lovely name too.
Bowman would be easier to spell and would eliminate the Monty nn. I don't think Beaumont is going to be too hard for people though. Just unexpected.Which is nice imho.
I prefer Vera to Vida but that was her sisters name.
Love Julia :) no that's notcheating. I'll throw it by hubby.
I love your line of reasoning- it really helps narrow things down.
Thank you all for your advice! It is so good to read other perspectives.
Out last name is pronounced gehdree.
I like Eva Marie (except that a google turned up the actress +a nude model). Do you think Eva Rosemarie is too old lady ? Also is Eva going to be a pronunciation problem? We are from the SOuthern US and pronounce it as Eevuh but my neighbors speak Spanish and pronounce it ehvah. Our last name is hard enough to pronounce- I'm a little concerned that she will be frusterated with her name even though I like both pronunciations.
I liked the suggestion of Elodie but are 2 Ee endings going to be too much?
Thank you all!
I would have made the opposite comment about the 2 girl names. I haven't met any little Charlotte s but I have heard of a Willow & a Willa. So, I think you are safe with either - not too unique, not too popular. Both are beautiful name sets, I love that they honor your relatives & are special to you. You can't go wrong. If it were me - I'd probably go with Willow - easier to pronounce & spell, a little more laid back than Charlotte, but I think Charlotte is beautiful, classic & sweet.
Shane is great. I'd go ahead & honor gpa. Sounds like it is important to your husband & it is a beautiful solid name. For a boy I would even consider 2 middle names Shane William Adare - just a thought.
Andrew is my favorite :) I think they all work well with your sibset & with Murray
I love the name Eliza but can't convince my husband. He likes Eva but I'm worried about pronunciation issues.
