I am a name enthusiast and have been for a long time--my husband and I don't have any children yet but I'll be well prepared when we do! I love old fashioned traditional and slightly eclectic names. Keeping up with the baby name world is a favorite hobby.

Aria/Arya also comes from Game of Thrones and the Eragon series--it seems to be the perfect name for a character, everyone is using it!
I've always liked Sidney Carton from a Tale of Two Cities. Oh, and what about To Kill a Mockingbird? There are some great ones in there: Atticus, Scout, Boo.
I like both Mitt and Tebow! I don't think Sandy has nearly the same naming impact that Katrina did--I know many Sandys and will not think of this storm every time I hear the name, while I do think of Hurricane Katrina every time I hear Katrina.
Agreed!
My beloved-but-off-limit names aree Jasper for a boy and Briar, Ilse, Persephone, Virginia and Hermione for girls. My husband hates the name Jasper but I think it's making such a comeback! The girl names are a bit too "out there" or way too tied to literary characters, except for Virginia, which I fear may come with unfortunate nicknames. Our solution tends to be to use the names on pets, that way we don't feel that we've "wasted" them. :-)
I love Jasper for a boy and nearly all the girl names (minus Journey) so it seems pretty on-target to me!
Liz: I really like Elliott--it still sounds traditional and sophisticated but you avoid the really popular Biblical names with Elliott. I like Potter, too, but it reminds me of Harry Potter and doesn't seem to fit your naming style (from what you named your first son as well as the other names you've suggested for the second). Good luck choosing!
