In Response to Thoughts on Calvin?

I should probably clarify......we would never bring up the idea of expectations of naming but would just kind of leak the name we are thinking of to close family so that there were no suprises.  I didn't know if that would help in the long run or maybe just give people time to get upset?   As my husband said, his father can't be under any illusions that we'd chooose his name...but then you never know what ideas people get!

Aww, I love those together as well!  They sound like a perfect pair of sisters.   Thanks for the idea!

i really like Maeve, Stella and Elspeth....although I don't think Elspeth will make it past my husband!  I had forgotten all about that name.  I loved it as a teenager!    Thanks for the ideas!

Funny, I know so many little girls named Jane, I never thought to check the popularity!   It would be well within our limits except for the fact that we know so many personally.

In Response to Baby name remorse

This probably doesn't help but I felt name remorse with all my babies!   I think it was after the first weeks but before they were 6 months, so it's a bit different than your situation.  I especially felt it with the son that we had a hard time deciding on.  It was a name we had talked a lot about but my husband wasn't totally sold one.  Once he was born he was still unsure and so told me I should do what I liked best.  I think I started worrying that I'd picked the wrong one.   I am happy with all their names now!

I like the previous posters suggestion of trying the name out for a few days and seeing if you're happier with it.

Good point about loading up the tributes!  Having one of the names be unique in the family is important to me.  I was a bit suprised to even be having a girl.....I'm the only girl in a family of 5 kids and on my husbands side there are very very few girls, even if you go back a few generations.   So I think I feel a lot of pressure to fit it all in and make everyone happy with this one little girl!    Thanks for the reminder!

My goodness, you are all amazing!   I can't believe the combinations you all have come up with.   There are so many good ones!  And it's made me look at my names with fresh eyes.   I'm excited to start playing around with the suggestions.....I know there is a winner in there!
