One thing we're worried about is the gaining popularity of Isaac, I could see this as a top 10 name soon.
Thanks for the input so far, surname is Long.
Thank! A lot of really good input so far, and some very helpful tips for narrowing down the list. I have to admit I'm leaning towards the M names. One other middle name consideration would be Marie which could have a nice ring to it with an M first name.
I think Tillie would be a cute nickname as well for Matilda.
Just remembered one of our friends has a daughter named Vivian they call Vivi... So that's out now :(
I like the way Joseph Scott sounds. A few of your names are quite trendy and popular right now so keep that in mind especially Logan, Jackson, Conor.
Let me layer in a few other names to see if favorites Vivian and Margaret stand up to the competition:
We know a ton of kids from local playgroups so anything on our list is not something we have ran into locally, but I have to say we do run into a lot of the popular names. My absolute favorite is Charlotte, but it's now super popular... You can't predict the future, Everett is starting to creep up there!
Overall I like names that have staying power that have been around for a while and never completely dropped off the radar and therefore aren't part of some temporary trend you're likely to regret.
So far I'm hearing Wesley as the favorite for a boy and Vivian and Margaret (if I rule out Penelope due to popularity). If it helps potencial middle names for a girl would be:
Elaine (mother in law)
Thanks, I'm thinking Penelope is going to be too popular as well, we really don't want to be running into other children with the same name frequently.
Wesley is my favorite for a boy right now as well, wasn't sure if it ran into our last name at all, but I think I'm over thinking that part and it works fine.
Thanks for all of the feedback, it was very helpful! We ended up going with Everett.
We're in the hospital now (Game time decision) he has dark hair and a dimple in his chin. how important is it to go with a 2+ syllable name given my last name?
