Thank you for all of these suggestions! Callista and Jolie are my favorites. I actually also love Astrid but our last name starts with "D" so anything ending in "D" doesn't work as well.

Thank you for your thoughts and all of this information! Alice Audrey is still a top contender but I don't want to miss out on an opportunity that could honor both grandmothers. Alice Callista is a nice option - I'm not sure if I like the sound better than Alice Audrey but definitely worth consideration! Thank you again!

Thank you! It looks like Alice Audrey and Tessa Madeline are the winners here and I love both of those combinations. My hesitation with using Audrey is that it is a family name (DH grandmother) - this is our last child and my son's name doesn't honor any family members. I struggle with only honoring one person, which is why I normally shy away from family names - but I love the name Audrey and it does sound nice with Alice.

So one additional option... Audrey's middle name was Belle and my grandmother's name is Bonnie. So if we found a "not too out there" name that means "beautiful" that we liked and sounded good with Alice and/or Tessa, that could be a perfect middle name contender. We could honor two grandmothers without using anyone's actual name. Any ideas of names that mean beautiful that would sound good with Alice as a first name?

In Response to Atticus or Clark?

I really like both names! With Cooper I prefer Atticus and I also think Atticus Wilcox flows slightly better than Clark Wilcox. Good Luck!

Audrey was DH’s grandmother but I also just think it’s a beautiful name. Other than that no family significance, just names we like!

I’m not sure why Alice Madeline didn’t come up but it might get added to the list! Uh oh... I’m supposed to be narrowing them down ;)

In Response to Which do you prefer?

Of these three Isla is my favorite and then Elsie. I agree that Elsie does not need a longer version - it has a long history as a stand alone name. I love Isla but it didn't make it on to my short list because of the difficulty people in the U.S. seem to have pronouncing it. I'm hoping as it becomes more popular that will change for all the future little Islas!

I think Rowan is a great name for a boy or a girl. The only Rowan I've ever known was a little boy but honestly, it would fit either for me. I definitely think of Finley as a boy's name and Finn is adorable as well. Have you considered Ronan? Similar vibe but more solidly used for boys if that continues to be really important.

Thank you for the insight!

So DH and I have been back and forth with names for a few weeks now and Alice is still the front runner. We've officially dropped Eliza because it just doesn't seem like "the right" name and DH has vetoed Eva and Naomi.  We also went through many of your suggestions and there are a few I'm going to readdress with DH after he's had a name discussion "break"! The only other name that is now consistently competing with Alice is Tessa.

I'd love to hear your thoughts and impressions on Alice vs. Tessa - our last name starts with a "D" and rhymes with tin. Older brother is Leo Alexander. And a few ideas for middle names are Quinn (front runner), Juliet, Maeve, and Claire. Thank you!

That’s so good to hear! Thanks for your insight as an Alice mom!

Thank you! Deciding between names for my son was so easy so I’m sure I’m over thinking this one like you said! I have definitely been obsessing and I like the idea of taking a break (if I can!) and doing the pros list! I also really like Margot from your suggestions so that might end up on the list:)

Beautiful choices! My favorites are Juliette Maeve (love this middle name!), Juliette Iris, and Juliette Rose. These are the ones that flow the best IMO. Good luck!

Your nephew has a great name ;) Thank you for your thoughts on the girls names! DH feels the same about Eliza and I keep going back and forth - I love them all!

I like Theodore Thomas the best! I think it has great nn potential and has the same feel as Josephine. My next two favorites are Alexander and Luke - these are fairly common in my area but it's understandable because they're great names.

Thank you! I am still going back and forth between all three so I love getting all of the non-biased opinions!

Thank you! I hadn't considered that connection with Violet before and it's definitely something to consider.

Thank you for your input! I love Amelia and Stella but we have family that has chosen those names. Caroline and Evelyn were on our original longer list so you've definitely pinpointed my name style!

Congratulations! I love your boys names and from the list you provided I think Tessa fits the best with your boys and I think it's my favorite from your list. My second favorite is Celeste. I stumble a bit saying Emma Morris so that would probably be my last choice.

Other options that would work with your sibset are: Lydia, Stella, Alice, Eliza, Naomi, Nora, Eleanor, Caroline, Clara, Hazel, Violet (or Viola), Isobel (or Isabelle depending on your spelling preference), or Isabella.
