I really think any of these could work and I don't dislike any of them (although I prefer Kate to Caitlin for flow with these names).

I think you need to stop worrying about the full names and just focus on the first names (or names you will use all that time if that happens to be a nickname).

You know you want Violet. That is set. So you need to decide to you want Penelope or Darcey ( to get to CeCe). Since you are having g/g twins and you are giving them each 3 names in addtion to a surname, you have room to fit the names you love and want as honor names, so don't worry about that. But you only get 2 everyday names. That is the real decision. The rest you can figure out from there.

I like both. And to counter the comments that Jenna doesn't fit an Asian-American there is an Korean-American actress Jenna Ushkowitz who was on the TV show Glee.

In Response to Lumina

I usually don't like to post a negative view of a name, but Lumina sounds like a brand name to me. I think first of Chevy Lumina cars, but even beyond that I know of a brand Illumina too, so it doesn't read as child's name to me.

I'm curious about the surname too. If that is that one you both love maybe it isn't that bad with the surname.

In Response to Favorite "W" Name?

I recently heard of a baby named Watson.

I know one Heidi who is about 1yo. And my 2yo daughter adores her (and all babeis really) and has named all 5 of her dolls "Baby Heidi." So I have a positive impression.

I know a woman with this name. I am in America. Everyone at work pronounces it May-duh. I think I've heard her introduce herself with that pronunciation too.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. After much back and forth, I think we have finally settled on a name. Pretty sure we are going with Josephine Rose. After months of stressing out about it we both decided it was the one name that felt easy and natural for us to use. Less than a month to go...  :-)

Thanks! Almost all of those are names we have considered. It is so nice to have a record of the names that you have considered over the years. It was funny to look through my mother's name book and see the name she had circled and almost made the cut. :-)

My wife already forbid me from buying the new edition. :-(  She thinks we have too many name books. Of course BNW is my favorite, and we are expecting. So, until I sneak a copy home or sneak a peek in a bookstore...

What are the sibling names for Nathaniel? We are expecting a girl this time and are stuck on finding a name for Nate's sister.

Thanks!

Yes, I agree with that one. I took a phone message from a Joslyn, and I heard Jacqueline. I thought it was just me. My name is Jacqueline, so I thought I misheard because of my own ego. :-)

My sister is Meredith, but goes by Merry. She is constantly getting called Mary. She HATES it. With some accents, even after she says "Merry, like Merry Christmas." She still gets called Mary.

In Response to Russian Boy Names

I work with an Alexander who goes by Sasha. (He is Russian). I love it. It doesn't really fit my style, and I'm not Russian so I think it would be a little strange for me to use it, but for some reason I really like it a lot. So Alexander nn Sasha or Alex gets my vote.

Actually two of my favorite family names are Geneva (which is my middle name) and Evanell (who was my great-grandmother who I loved very much). And Evanell, Nell or Evan would be near the top of my list if my spouse liked it and if my sister's boyfriend wasn't named Evan.

I LOVE this. Thanks for posting this. It is a lot of fun.

Our son is not a namesake. We just liked his name, but I did it with our family and actually my final four are all names on our list for furture baby #2. I have two missing in the Great-great-great generation, but here are our family names:

G-G-G-grandparents: Filomenia, Vincenzo (known as James), Guiseppa (known as Josephine), Diego, Assunta (known as Susan), Giuseppe, Saveria, Alfonso, Caroline, Frank, Elizabeth, Andrew, Edward, Martha, David, Mary, Ricardo, Carmen, Anabelle, Oscar, Solomon, Geneva, John, Mary, Michael, Joanna, Georgianie, Jacques, Charles and Lucinda

From this generation my final four were Charles, Andrew, Elizabeth and Josephine and those were all on our short list for baby #2.

G-G-grandparents: Agnes, Anthony, Mary, Anthony, Edward, Isabelle, Robert, Bertha, Pedro, Juanita, Arnold, Evanell, John, Mary Florence (known as Mollie), Mary Josephine and Millard

G-grandparents: Alice, Melville, Josephine, Alphonse, Antonio, Shirley, Pearl and Edward.

After looking at this I love that there were so many names that really reflect our background (Italian, Spanish, French, and been here since just after the Mayflower).

In Response to Daughter #2

I really like Belle. It may get confused with Bella, but that only has to bother you if you let it. Belle makes me think of Beauty and the Beast.

Also, my mother's name is June and she was born in July! June was her mothers middle name.

Good luck. I love the name Rose. Whatever you choose for her sister, I'm sure it will be beautiful too.
