Linnaeus - my husband hasn't given me much to go on. I have asked him for the types of names he likes but he would rather I come up with a list of possible names and then he tells me whether or not he likes them. Unfortunately he dislikes almost all of them so far. If our first born was a girl we might have named her Kerrigan nn Regan at his suggestion but I wasn't sold on it because the nn Kerri is nms and would have been hard to avoid. Not to mention my husband has a cousin named Carrie. I'll quiz him tonight on different styles to see if we can narrow it down to a few different types. RobynT- It's not a conscious decision by any means. When I try out a name by saying the it out loud with my surname I usually end up taking it off the list because it doesn't sound/feel right. I don't do it consciously, but I guess given that explanation it does seem as though -a names aren't doing it for me. I do like the way Onora sounds but can't decide if it's my style. The same thing with Simona. I didn't know I was so picky when it comes to names. Seesh! I really do appreciate all the suggestions.

Thanks so much for the suggestions everyone! RobynT - nymbler just wasn't giving me anything good when I put in suggestions, so thank you for giving it a go for me :) Some names I'm liking: Sigourney (doesn't flow with LN) Ingrid (my husband does not though!) Signe Soairse Vi (Vee) I'm afraid some are too hard to pronounce and would leave her always having to correct people. I'm really liking Margot too. What's weird is that I normally do not gravitate towards 'S' names.

This really is an interesting discussion. zoerhenne - Tiberius for Owl is the perfect! Can't help with the rest, though I'll probably mull it over for the rest of the evening. Off topic: I need some help coming up with some girl names for a not yet conceived; maybe next year child. She would have a brother named Finnegan Logan. Logan is a family surname. I cannot for the life of me, find a girl name that feels right. Names I like but were nixed by my husband: Imogen Ondine Sigrid To give you a further idea of the type of names I am drawn to, here is my list of boy names: Silas Ulysses(mn) Felix Gideon Constantine Rafe Calder Anyone have any ideas? We have Irish roots on both sides and my Husband has Bohemia(n) roots as well if that helps at all.
