I know this is months and months behind, as usual, but: @another Laura - In context to the name Lawrence, I immediately thought of the nn Laurie normally used with Laurence. Although it carries the female associations, I am especially fond of it as a nn from being a fan of classic literature, i.e. Little Women / Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy.
