Just to thank everybody again for all the naming advice and help. Our beautiful daughter joined us on 14th Oct and we named her Sadie!
Thank you so much everybody for all your honest and kind advice, you have definitely sorted out some questions I had in my mind. Tess I still love but during research recently found it is the same as another family members name so can't consider. I def was always loving Nora more than Norah and always felt it is indeed best with Mary. Sadie is a bit trendy these days but has been on our list for the last 7 years. Rowan will be the boys name should he arrive if it's a girl I think it's going to be is she a Nora or a Sadie! Thanks again for being so great
I am now waiting patiently here for baby 40 weeks, everything ready and actually creating new lists of things to do to keep busy! Have finally managed to eliminate the names Esme, Aubrey and Tess. So it's Sadie and Nora(h) left. Rowan is my boys name, but have also begun to seriously consider it for either girl or boy? Any final thoughts to help please really appreciated as nearly there. If Nora is Norah or Nora better in your opinion thanks again
Many thanks everybody for all your honest help. Aubrey was indeed our least favourite choice so has been eliminated. The second name Mary is not going to be used day to day it is to honour my aunt, we and close family will know it's there. Sadie has been on my list since my first baby was due 7 years ago is it just that it's been in my head too long? Tess is a new arrival I like its snappiness i just don't have the same love for Tessa. Esmé (indeed esmay) came to me recently but hubby is been put off by a child in a tv programme he watched . Nora was an old family name on my dads side of the family. Our boys name we have picked is Rowan and we already have Luke, Milo and Arthur here with us.
Dara bad school vibe, I am Caroline myself, Nina difficult customer at work , Cousin and friends June, Kathryn/Kate, Ruth
Molly really nice
Hi many thanks for being so honest about Mary I so understand what you are saying. Mary is my second name so between it and my first Caroline have had plenty of Neil diamond and little lamb sing alongs down through the years! Sadella is a good name as it has elements of two I love Sadie and Stella
Hi we have an aunt Pearl, Alice reminds too much of the smokey song, Juliet no because of Romeo , Vivian it's pretty woman and Richard gere , Sylvia he doesn't like, Daphne it's scooby doo , Susan my cousin and Maud I like but not him. he knows what doesn't like but can't tell me what does. Says will know when hears the right name just not there yet!
Hi Gemma Honor and Clara have been used by close friends I really like Maisy but again not to hubby's taste.
It really doesn't bother me at all how the first name fits with Mary as it's there to remember my aunt not really being used on a day to day basis
I love Lola and have done since my teenage kinks days sadly my cousin bet me to it as have friends with Lucy, Alice, Ruby. Stella I really like but it's one of my bosses names so is putting me off!
I really like Gwen and Liv, my mum is Rose so I can't use it as we had decided not to pick any grandparents names. Came across Aubrey but I only know male Aubreys in out area. The search continues and am getting more confused by the second! For our other children the names just came to us by a chain of events in lead up to baby's arrival but nothing thus time!
Great list had suggested Gwen and Ivy to hubby with no luck. Elsa I love was talking about it with my sister yesterday evening as the kids watched frozen, think already the name had gotten so popular here.
Many thanks for a great list. Tess is a real favourite of mine and on shortlist. Rowan is another but seems to be used more for boys in these parts so afraid to use if a little girl arrives. Juliet beginning to grow on me. Really like Ivy, Isolde/Iseult, Nora,Gwen, Silvia, Esmé, Trudy, Agnes, Olive! Such a long list and all so varied so any advice or suggestions greatly welcomed as baby brain has set in here early!
