Yes, agree! Kaliope is my guilty pleasure name! I am a fan of Persiphone too.
Everyone we talk to hates the name but my husband and I love it.
Thanks, that helps! Good to know that name wouldn't feel out of place. My husband actually likes this name too!
That's also a good one, thanks!
I love these and seem right in line with the name we both loved but everyone else hated- Kaliope. Thanks!
Camila is on the short list, I think Camillia might just have to be there too!
Thank you for all the great replies (so far)! Some more information is that we both tend to like the middle name Christine since that is my mother in laws name. The initials KC or CC would be great as that's another nn posibility.
Strangely enough, the one name we both like is Kaliope (like the greek muse but with a K). The issue with that name is EVERYONE makes a face at it so that just wont work. Maybe other names with Kali or Cami as possible nicknames would be great. Ideas?
We have a relative name Aurora so that one is out. Emmaline could work, I'll add that to my list. I also really like Elisabeth but my husband said it's the "epitome" of what he doesn't like in a name- whatever that means! Funny thing, if he was born a girl that was actually going to be his name!
I agree that any name that will lead to Ally as a nn would be great. I tend not to like Allison, maybe because I grew up with a few of them? My husband loves it. I like Alexandra but my husband doesn't like that a nn could be Alex, which he considers a boys name. Really great ideas that we've been rattling around so you are right on the mark!
The more I say Coralie the more I like it so I'll ask my husband when he gets home. I forgot to mention that my middle name is Lee so any name that incorporates lee at the end is an added bonus for me. For that reason I would probably spell it Coralee, but I am really starting to like that one. Coraline is another option I like that is similar to another name you pointed out. Is that one too "new" for the existing sib set- Troy, Juliana, and Luke?
Brooklynn is another name I like but my husband doesn't.
My husband's cousin named one of their daughters Grace so Grace as a first name probably won't work, but Collette Grace just might.
Interesting that my names seem to fit a new classic theme- I never really knew what kind of theme I was going with other than short/strong first names for boys and long/full of nn potential for girls. I'll have to look into that more to see what other names fit the new classic theme.
Amelia could work but I'm not sure if it's too short compared to our other daughter- I'll ask my husband when he gets home what he thinks. We have family and close friends with Alyse (different spelling for Elise), Alyssa, Paige, and Chloe so while I especially LOVE Elise and Alyssa, they probably won't work.
