I like Mila too! However, there could be some pronunciation issues - MEE-la vs. MY-la, right? I am pronouncing it MEE-la. Or shoud I not worry about that?
Thank you all so much for your thoughtful and articulate comments on the names I am debating on. I appreciate this more than you could imagine. I have a couple more thoughts to throw out there before I make the final decision.
1) I forgot to mention and didn't really think about it till now, but my name is Erica, does that sound silly for our names to rhyme: Annika and Erica? LOL
2) I had this name come to mind yesterday from a friend of mine and I really like it. The name: Mila. It does have Scandinavian roots, but of course, originally of Slavic decent. Liv and Mila would be cute together. I do lose some of the Scandinavian flair that comes with the name Annika. But that was my last thought. What do you think?
Thank you so much for your post. I tried to take a few days to step away and just see if I would "see" a name in her. However, I am still conflicted. :( I am still debating between: Ana, Annika, Ella & Petra. Everyday she seems to fit one of those names. My older daughter, Liv (2 yrs), is also calling her these different names. LOL I really think it's time to decide and confidently commit to a name and start using it. With my last daughter we named her right when I got pregnant. This truly has been such a different experience.
I too really like Elin, but I am worried about her constantly being called Ellen. I know the same goes with the name Ana -- people mispronouncing it as An-na instead of Ah-na, but I still am fond of that as a first name.
Any other thoughts you have please let me know.. As I shared earlier, I still have not made a final decision.
Thanks so much for your thoughts:) Are you pronouncing Elin as EE-Lin? I do like it as a first name, but wanted to know if we were on the same page phenetically - I also do like Annika Elin. Tough choice. She is already 3 weeks old so I really need to decide. :)
