Since Samira is an Arabic derived/Indic name (if that is the naming tradition it's drawn from- if not, disregard the following!) and your last name is German, I would suggest a first name that works in both naming traditions. There's a thread on 'international names' you could look up for inspiration. Off the top of my noggin I'm thinking of names like Maryam, Nora/Noorah (not actually the same name in both traditions like Maryam is, but spelled and pronounced similarly), Mina/Meena.
I like Myrtle, Hortense, and Kermit! But I agree they're unlikely to take off in the general naming populace, at least for a while.
