Bo Name Meaning & Origin
Bo
Origin of the name Bo:
Variant of Beau, which is derived from the French beau (handsome, a dandy). Its use as a given name dates to the early 19th century when it was borne by Beau Brummell (1778 - 1840), a friend of the prince regent, known for his fashionable dress and dandyish manner. However, it wasn't until the 20th century that the name became common, perhaps because of the character Beau Wilkes in the epic Gone with the Wind.
