I loved the name Brandon but also wanted something different. I changed the spelling with the 'o' becoming an 'a'. This holds meaning to me as I have a brother named Daniel - hence the last bit of the new Brandan being Dan.
Having the name spelt different ensures that he won't get called Brando or Don when older. Instead, we opt of the nickname Brand, which has a masculine sound to it. Everyone who I have come across loves the different spelling and the uniqueness of the name.
