We named our son Lucian. The reaction to his name is usually favorable especially when they meet him.

My son is also named Lucian. The name means "light" and is a perfect fit for his cheerful and bright demeanor. When we first decided on his name, people were very negative saying it sounds too much like "Lucifer" or that it would be mispronounced as "lucy-ann". But, once people meet Lucian (pronounced Loo-shin), he melts their hearts!

My oldest son's name is Lucian. Named after a lycan character from the Underworld movies. When people put that together they usually think it's pretty cool. His middle name is Michael. I've been told by a few people that "Lucian Michael" sounds like a rock star name. We pronounce it Loo-shen, hiss Nick name is Loosh. He loves his name!

Please do not burden your child with this name!!! My grandson whom I help take care of is named Lucian and people (even family members) say his name in a hurry and it comes out sounding like lotion instead of Lucian, so much so that if I say anything about a lotion my two year old grandson Lucian comes running! If that isn't bad enough the nick names he is called are appalling Lushee(Lu -she) and Lush (rhyming with douche) a douche are just a few of these. Lucian sounds good but doesn't wear well in my opinion.
