- Personal experiences with the name Morgan
My son is named Morgan born USA in 1984. I also think it is very MASCULINE. I knew a young man who was lovely, strong, handsome and kind that had that name. I read an Irish novel a few years prior to his birth, and the hero was named MORGAN. He was a handsome, strong hero of the Irish Revolution. The name of the book is "Across the Bitter Sea'. When my son was born, the two actresses Morgan Fairchild and Morgan Brittany were becoming popular and so many girls were then named Morgan. I still think it is masculine and don't like it as a girls name. One time in church I kept reprimanding my too active son, and after the service an older man in front of us turned around, he said, 'I must tell you that every time you said "Morgan" I heard my mother's voice when I was young and restless in church", his name was Morgan also. We became quite friendly after that.. My son does not seem to mind girls with that name, but I do.... I still love that name....
Most people think Morgan is a girl's name and I used to be one of them, until I met my good friend Morgan who is a boy. The name suits him so well. There is something I love about this name for a boy. It is a very friendly name and it doesn't seem at all 'girlie' or feminine on him.
I named my son Morgan, after Wyatt Earp. My eldest son is named Whyatt (a variant) and Morgan was Wyatt Earps youngest brother, hence Whyatt and Morgan. :-) Morgan is my "huskier" and bigger of my sons, and Whyatt is my skinnier one. I feel he fits his name well.
I know a sweet boy named Morgan. The name suits him insanely well, and honestly, I couldn't see this as anything but a boy's name! But that's just me, I guess. :) Regardless, it's super cute.
