- Comments and insights on the name Thor
My brother's name is Thor and he loves it. It was an advantage for him to have such a unique and memorable name. We are Scandinavian and he has two sons named Oskar and Otto. If you are considering Thor as a name-- just do it! You won't regret it. My mom has mentioned that it was a little weird when he was a tiny baby, but ever since his personality came through, it was perfect. She thinks it really helped him in life to have such a powerful name.
- Personal experiences with the name Thor
We named our son Thor (born 2012) based on his behavior in utero. God of Thunder, and boy, does the name suit him. We get overwhelmingly positive reactions when introducing him to people. While some immediately associate the name Thor with Marvels Avengers, it is a classic name in Sweden, used for eons, but usually in combinations like Thorsten (Thor's Rock), Thorbjörn (Thor's Bear) etc.
Our son's name is Thor. It seems like the name brings a smile to everyone who says it. The male doctors at the hospital where I delivered him loved saying his name with a certain gusto. It is a fun name to say. THOR! It's a memorable one too - no one remembers my "top 50" name but everyone remembers Thor.
