Finnish. The Kalevala mythology and poems were collected and edited from oral tradition. It is presumed now that the name Aino was caused by a misunderstanding in note taking during collection. The words "aino tyttö" actually meant "only daughter", not a daugther called Aino (the word for "only" in Finnish is "ainoa").
According to Wikipedia (for what it's worth), because of the connection with mythology, the name was especially popular in the early 20th century during the period of Finnish cultural nationalism. It experienced a resurgence in the last couple decades and was the top name for girls in 2006.
Means "the only one" in Finnish. In the Finnish epic the 'Kalevala' this is the name of a girl who drowns herself when she finds out she must marry the old man Väinämöinen.
