My daughters name is Anika! Pronounced A-ni-ka! I love it! She loves it! But we had never heard of before! We honestly thought we made it up! To us she is named after Anikan Skywalker from Star Wars... We are not sci-fi nerds we just always liked that name and had to find a way to make it feminine. I did not like it at first but my husband really did! It has grown on me...and now I hate the name I had picked before!
