- Personal experiences with the name Cary
As a child I didn't like the name Cary as it was believed to be a boy's name (even though the boy's name is spelled Carey) and I was always having to explain that I was a girl. Then in college I really grew into my name because it was a strong, creative, unique name that everyone could remember, even if they had trouble spelling it. To this day, I always spell out my first name and immediately correct people who accidentally call me Sherri or Terri. I'm very proud of my name and am happy to proclaim it.
