- Personal experiences with the name Christin
As somebody named Christin with this spelling, I've been asked many times whether my parents were aiming for the "most Christian" spelling of Kristen (they weren't--they didn't even realize they were choosing an unusual spelling). When I'm asked to spell it, it's easiest to say "Christine without the E." It's a name that firmly identifies me as an '80s baby, but I've come to like it--and when I shorten to my first syllable, I'm glad I get to use Chris instead of Kris!
