- Personal experiences with the name Elise
My name is Elise and I quite liked it before EVERYONE in my generation started naming their kids Elise. Too common, now.
Condtantly mistaken for Elsie at work.
My younger sister is named Elise. We call her Eli, Lizzy, and Elimbo.
We named our daughter Elise. It's one of those names that everyone knows but no one uses. It's only been misread as 'Elsie' once. We pronounce it 'EL-eese' but accept others pronouncing it 'UH-leese'. We tried a bunch of nicknames on her but none stuck, except 'Silly.' Odd that she looks and acts like a Silly but I can't quite call her 'Ellie.' I think her name will grow with her well.
How about Leesie
My name has been mispronounced/misspelled as Elsie, Elsa, Elisa, Lisa, Eely, Ellis, Alice, E-lice, Alyse, and that's just the ones I remember off the top of my head.
The youngest of my 5-year-old twins is named Elise Karley, her twin is named Paige Maddison. We call our Elise Elle, and I LOVE her name so much!
