I like my name, but everyone always spells and pronounces it wrong.
- Personal experiences with the name Jeanine
I love my name and always have. I did change the spelling because my mom spelled it Jeanne with two dots above the e because her roommate in the hospital when I was born was called Jeanine and said that was how to spell it.
It was pronounced all kinds of ways all through my life. In my mid 20’s I added an i in between the n’s because the Judge suggested I change as little as possible. If my mom would have spelled it Janine
Or Janean I think it would have been pronounced correctly in school. I’m still called Jennie at times and I hate it but I decided people look quickly at the spelling and switch the ‘ine to ‘nie.
My mom since childhood named her dolls Jeanine. Her sister named hers Tammy and both named their babies that.
I later learned Jennie is one of my great grandmother’s names and that makes mispronounced Jeanine tolerable. Jeanine Susan is my complete name.
