My name is Junia. When I first introduce myself people think I'm saying Julia I have to pronounce it very clearly a couple times for them to understand (JOO-NEEYA) and I've heard people pronounce the J like an H. But I still love having a unique name, and I've never meet another Junia

- Meanings and history of the name Junia
Junia (referred to by modern historians as "Junia Secunda"), a Roman woman who lived in the first century BC.
In Romans 16:7, St. Paul greets Junia (or, less likely, the male Junias) as Jewish Christian, imprisoned for her faith, a long-time Christian, and "outstanding among the apostles." The speculation that she was a woman apostle has made Junia celebrated among Christian feminists.
