I have had the name Lianna for over 50 years now. It's traditional origin is Hebrew, meaning "God has spoken". A newer meaning is being generated in Asian communities that means a variation on Lotus flower, but this is new.
Throughout my life, people have consistently thought it beautiful, graceful and strong. I have never had a negative response to my name. People think it unusual and beautiful. Lucky for me that my parents found it.
Liana, the vine, is of a differnt origin and root, and not related to my name.
The other Liannas I have met (all 2 of them....lol!), were also intuitive, sensitive, friendly and fun. Both report similar responses to their name.
Just for the sake of clarification.

Lianna, a Canadian film about a lesbian coming out for the first time and finding her sexual independence through struggle. Deep, tough to watch, but very interesting.
