My parents named me Lorraine after my great grandmother Lorraine Elizabeth.
I was named with this unique spelling variation: Lorayne. My parents named me Lorayne after Sophia Loren, which is a bit strange. - LPatty
Lorraine is a cool name, I remember growing up in Queens, New York City, My Mother told me about her best friend Lorraine from High School,in the 1960's, they stayed in touch their entire lives, Lorraine married this man named Al, short for Alfred, together they were "Lorraine & Al" I know, it has a nice ring to it, "Lorraine & Al" Lorraine is Irish & German, while Al was Italian, they never had kids, or adopted but they were great friendly people, they had a few cats & dogs over the years, they were married for over 40 years, I even went over to their house with my family, this one time in late 1990 , I even joked to my Mom, that her & Lorraine were like "Laverne & Shirley" when they were best friends in High School , I wonder how many other couples named "Lorraine & Al" are out there
