My mom's name is "Lynne Marie" and she likes it. BUT-she gets really annoyed when people misspell her name as "Lynn" without the "E." I have Lynne as a middle name and I like it, I use it as part of my name verbally.
Lenny and Lynne are anagrams of each other; they contain the same letters.
- Personal experiences with the name Lynne
My first name is Lynne and I cant tell you how many times I have heard people respond to introductions with "Lynne? That's my middle name!". I can barely hold back the obvious eye roll. It really is one of the top 2 middle names for women nationwide but everyone seems to think they are dropping a bombshell with this response when meeting me. I do like that it is an uncommon first name but have always wished for something more elaborate or eloquent. Even two or three syllables to linger longer than the simplistic "lynn"...
________i apologize up front to the women with the name Lynne or variations of it....because it is my middle name and I HATE IT!!! It is so common, i hate hearing it coming and going, seems like half of girls have it as a middle name. And the ones i have known with it as a first name are kind of butch. The meaning is nice, but still hate the name.

Dare I say this is my middle name? My first name is Pamela, and when I was younger always wished I could go by my middle name instead - it sounded much prettier than Pam, which everyone insisted on calling me even though my name is Pamela, emphasis on the "ela" part which seemed to always get dropped. Anyway I think Lynne is a very pretty name as a first name. I think it is used so much as a middle name because it is so complimentary with other names, and sounds very pretty when combined with them. Not to drop a bombshell here but my daughter's middle name is "Lynne" as well. :)
_______________
Lynne is my middle name. I gave my daughter the middle name "Lynn". As a tribute to both of us, she named her daughter "Lynette". I have always liked the name Lynne, obviously.
