Just met a girl that spelled it this way. She said she hated it because of the odd spelling. I don't necessarily care for the spelling either. Just looks odd and could be confused & pronounced as "may-aa"
Plus, Maya, Mayah, Mya, Maiah, Maia, Maja, Mia, are all the same name and are all overused in my opinionNot a fan of the spelling. Work with children and Maya is a cute name but I have met SEVERAL little girls with that name.
