My brother and his wife were looking for a spelling for the name Maya, Mia, Maija... that was the least likely to be mispronounced. They especially did not want her called MAY-yuh or MEE-yuh.
This was what we came up with.Maiya is the middle name we have picked out for our baby if we have a girl, with Aeris as the first name.
My name is Maiya and I love how unique it is! There is one other maya in my school but she doesn't spell it the same way as me so there is never any confusion. I do sometimes meet other Maya's but I have never meet anyone with my spelling. It is frustrating sometimes that no ones spells it right, though but I love the uniqueness
